About Ms. Laura

My heart is committed to helping students improve their learning by building confidence and success. I have been teaching and tutoring since 1997, and I transitioned to homeschool coaching after decades of classroom teaching. Now I am grateful for the opportunity to focus on tutoring services only. One-on-one and small group settings pave the way for meaningful academic, social and emotional growth. Being able to provide individualized attention is a gift, one that can help any student flourish.

Whether your child is learning to read or striving to master complex algebraic equations, I am ready to help them elevate their educational journey. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M.A in Secondary Education, and I hold a Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Supplementary Authorization for Mathematics. I have experience teaching a special education class of 4th-6th graders, ten years of experience teaching elementary grades 2-5, and eleven years of experience teaching middle school math and science. I also worked for a few years as a homeschool teacher/ learning coach with students in grades K-12.

Everybody has their own unique interests and learning styles. I am part of a fun-loving family that is active with scouts and water polo, and we enjoy our local beaches as well as traveling whenever possible. We have helped our children navigate ADHD and ASD struggles, while focusing on the upside of our unique perspectives and approaches to learning and life. My learning styles happen to be visual, solitary, logical/mathematical, and kinesthetic. I cannot wait to learn about your child’s interests and learning styles as we work together to unlock their joy of learning!
